H Y G I E N E
Hygiene may seem like an obvious way to spend some time everyday, but I intentionally include it in my routine for some not-so-obvious reasons.
It is so easy to put yourself last, or to think that you do not have time for hygiene. Most of us shower everyday and brush our teeth a couple of times a day, but hygiene in this sense it something a little different.
The word hygiene actually means healthy living. That goes beyond cleanliness and delves into areas of your entire lifestyle. It is also about maintenance. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle includes personal cleanliness and neatness; your household tidiness; the selections you make when you purchase items to go in your body, on your body or in your home. With proper attention to hygiene, just one hour per day, you'll start seeing improvements in other areas of your life that you thought were unrelated.
Treating your body with respect and caring for every inch of yourself is why we are here. If your body and brain do not function, you ultimately take time from other development (such as intellectual or spiritual). Neglecting your hygiene is not unselfish, it is foolish.
