I
am a 30-something, college educated, recently married woman residing in the United States.
I left my corporate job to start my own business; then after seven years ran out of steam with that and started this website.
I believe everyone has the answers within them, but we forget that at times and seek outside counsel.
Why did you start evabach.com?
I think I have something to share with people. I had been searching for a "better way" for so many years, and now I have something that works for me. And while what works for me may not work for someone else, I think my story may inspire others in finding what they need.
Do you subscribe to the new-age era?
I try not to label my beliefs. I find value in many movements that are exposed to us. Wicca, Christianity, Buddhism, Self-Love, Humanism. I think all "eras" and religions have something to offer. I think I am attracted to any knowledge that focuses on enlightenment and joy.
What do you say to people who find you unrealistic?
Usually I do not say anything. They are entitled to their opinions. If their "realism" is the polar opposite to mine, we are not going to see eye to eye. From my experience, what is conventionally realistic does not meet my personal needs. So my definition of realism is different from an other's.
What do you find unrealistic?
Doing something that does not make me happy, over and over again.
What about selfishness?
My view on selfishness? Well, I think if you create a really-good-you, you can then make a difference in other people's lives - And in our society that is considered unselfish. But I think somewhere along the way, the term selfish got a bad rap. You cannot give and be productive if you are sick, depressed or overwhelmed. I think being selfish and looking out for number one is the most giving thing you can do.
On your site you talk about your perfect day and how to achieve it in 17 hours. Now that is unrealistic, no?
Actually, that is completely obtainable, but that is not what my book is about really. It is about how I created a 17-hour day that is perfect for me. I go into what I do, how I do it and why I do it. My choices and methods are perfect for me, not necessarily anyone else. The jest of the book is that anyone can create a day, where they do exactly what they want to do, and find success, abundance and love. My experience is just one example.
